CLINICAL OFFICER – 1 POSITION
Job Purpose
The Clinical Officer provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, referral, and health education services within their professional scope and hospital protocols.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Assess patients and obtain relevant medical histories.
- Conduct physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage conditions within the scope of practice.
- Request and interpret appropriate investigations.
- Prescribe and administer treatment as authorised.
- Manage common acute and chronic conditions.
- Identify and manage emergencies appropriately.
- Refer patients requiring specialist or higher-level care.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient clinical services.
- Provide health education and counselling.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary care.
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety procedures.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised qualification in Clinical Medicine/Clinical Officer training.
- Registration with the relevant professional council.
- Valid practising licence.
- Relevant clinical experience is desirable.
