Exquisite Solution Limited is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a client in the oil and gas sector. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of LVL’s heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and servicing heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in heavy machinery.
- Overhaul, repair, and replace major equipment components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs to maintain equipment integrity.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and schematics to identify and resolve equipment faults.
- Test and inspect repaired equipment to confirm safe and efficient operation before deployment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects, repair requirements, and spare parts needs.
- Comply with all health, safety, environmental (HSE), and statutory requirements during maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with operators and maintenance personnel to schedule servicing and reduce equipment downtime.
- Mentor junior mechanics and apprentices while ensuring a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Three years’ experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, including graders, backhoes, hydras, and JCBs.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Certification in heavy equipment maintenance is an added advantage.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding workshop and field environments.
