DENTIST / PUBLIC HEALTH DENTAL OFFICER – 1 POSITION
Job Purpose
The Dental Officer provides preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services for patients with oral and dental health needs and contributes to community oral health promotion.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Conduct dental examinations and take relevant patient histories.
- Diagnose common dental and oral conditions.
- Provide appropriate dental treatment within professional scope.
- Perform routine dental procedures as trained and authorised.
- Provide emergency dental care where required.
- Promote oral hygiene and preventive dental practices.
- Provide patient education on oral health.
- Participate in community dental and public health activities.
- Maintain accurate dental records.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Refer complex cases to appropriate specialists.
- Maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Participate in clinical audits, health promotion, and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised qualification in Dentistry or Public Health Dentistry/Dental Officer training as applicable.
- Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Valid practising licence.
- Relevant clinical experience is an advantage.
