Responsibilities
The Security Guard will be responsible for protecting the University's staff, students, visitors, buildings, equipment, and other property by maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment across the University premises.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- At least a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.
- Training in security, guarding, military, police, or related fields will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience working as a security guard in an institution, university, school, company, hospital, or other organization is desirable.
- Ability to read and write simple reports and maintain security records.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and access control.
- Good physical and mental fitness.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Conducting regular patrols of assigned areas and reporting any suspicious activities, security threats, or unusual incidents.
- Monitoring entrances, gates, parking areas, and other designated security points.
- Preventing unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, damage to property, and other security-related incidents.
- Responding promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, fire incidents, and other security situations.
- Maintaining accurate records in the security occurrence book, including incidents, visitors, vehicles, and other relevant information.
- Reporting security incidents immediately to the Security Supervisor or other designated authority.
- Assisting in emergency and evacuation procedures when required.
- Ensuring that University property leaving or entering the premises is properly authorized and recorded.
- Safeguarding confidential information obtained in the course of duty.
- Maintaining discipline, professionalism, courtesy, and good conduct while on duty.
- Working closely with other security personnel, University administrators, staff, students, and relevant authorities.
- Performing any other duties related to security as may be assigned by the supervisor.
