DRIVER
Job Purpose
To provide safe, reliable and professional transportation services for the school, staff, students, visitors and authorised official activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive school vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Transport staff, students, equipment and authorised passengers as assigned.
- Observe traffic laws and road-safety requirements.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Report vehicle faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain vehicle logbooks and trip records.
- Ensure vehicles are clean and properly maintained.
- Monitor fuel consumption and report discrepancies.
- Ensure all required vehicle documentation is valid.
- Support collection and delivery of official documents and supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding passengers and official activities.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and breakdowns.
- Ensure authorised use of institutional vehicles.
- Perform other transport-related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
- Valid driving permit with the appropriate class.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
- Minimum of 3 years' driving experience with a reputable organisation.
- Clean driving record.
- Good knowledge of local routes and road conditions.
- Professional, reliable and courteous conduct.
