CLEANERS – 10 POSITIONS
Job Purpose
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, safe, and orderly hospital environment in accordance with infection prevention and control standards.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Clean wards, offices, corridors, waiting areas, washrooms, treatment rooms, and other designated areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, dust, disinfect, and sanitise surfaces.
- Clean high-touch areas regularly.
- Collect and appropriately segregate waste in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness of hospital equipment and furniture as assigned.
- Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies.
- Report spills, hazards, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Respect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Perform terminal and deep cleaning when required.
- Carry out other cleaning-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Basic education suitable for the position.
- Previous cleaning experience, particularly in a hospital or healthcare environment, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic hygiene and infection prevention practices is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
