Job Purpose
The Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons, assess student progress, provide academic guidance, and contribute to the overall academic and personal development of learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver effective lessons.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Deliver engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and independent learning.
- Conduct practical and experimental activities where applicable.
- Assess learners through tests, assignments, projects, examinations, and continuous assessment.
- Maintain accurate records of students' academic progress.
- Identify learning gaps and provide appropriate remedial support.
- Maintain effective classroom discipline and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Prepare learners adequately for internal and external examinations.
- Provide academic mentorship, guidance, and support to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, extracurricular activities, and co-curricular programmes.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, school management, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with relevant curriculum developments and effective teaching methodologies.
- Uphold the school's values, policies, professional standards, and safeguarding requirements.
- Contribute to the school's mission of developing confident, responsible, and future-oriented leaders.
Qualifications & Skills
- Relevant teaching qualification/degree .
- Strong subject knowledge and effective teaching skills.
- Relevant teaching experience is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good classroom management abilities.
- Strong assessment, lesson-planning, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to use appropriate teaching and learning technologies.
- Passion for education and student development.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, patience, and commitment.
