Background
Mushanga Health Centre III is seeking to recruit a qualified Laboratory Technician. This role is crucial for providing essential diagnostic services to the community.
Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for carrying out basic laboratory tests for the diagnosis of diseases.
Key functions include:
- Preparing laboratory reagents and stains for routine investigations
- Carrying out basic laboratory tests and submitting reports
- Observing safety and quality assurance practices in laboratories
- Cleaning laboratory equipment regularly
- Requisitioning necessary supplies for laboratory work and keeping a record of stock, compiling and submitting daily and periodic laboratory reports, and safely disposing of laboratory wastes.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Candidates must possess a diploma or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Techniques from a recognized Training Institution.
- They must be registered and licensed with the Allied Health Professionals Council and have at least 2 years of working experience.
- Essential competencies include a concern for quality and standards of laboratory services, being result-oriented, possessing ethics and integrity, communicating effectively, time management, and customer care orientation.
