Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument, Number 2 of 2022, hence a body corporate with perpetual succession and a Common Seal.

First established as a Private University in 2005, by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended, MMU has been making strides toward becoming an academic Centre of excellence.

To consolidate its desire for academic excellence, MMU hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for the following positions: -

JOB TITLE: Assistant Lecturer -- Mathematics (Re-Advertised)
Salary Scale: (M6.2)
Responsible to: Head of Department

Purpose of the job
To assist the design, development and production of learning material and teaching.

Key functions
1. Assist to prepare lecture material and conducts lectures to undergraduate students under the guidance of a Lecturer.
2. Assist in setting tests, examinations and coursework.
3. Assist in marking tests and examinations scripts and compiling examinations results.
4. Assist in administering and invigilating tests, examinations and coursework.
5. Assist in supervising student projects under guidance and supervision of a Lecturer.
6. Assist in mentoring junior staff in academic growth and research.
7. Carry out official administrative duties that may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Person specifications
1. Should have a Master’s degree in Mathematics.
2. Should have a high level of academic potential to pursue higher degrees.
3. Should have good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
4. Should be computer literate.
5. Should have a good track record of service to the public.
