JOB DETAILS:

Our client in the Energy Sector seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and results-oriented individual for the vacancy above.
As an electricity distributor, UMEME is licensed to distribute and supply electricity to customers. This mandate involves; operation, maintenance and upgrade of electricity distribution infrastructure, electricity retail and provision of related services. The sector is regulated by the Electricity Regulatory Authority, whose mandate includes setting operating standards and appropriate end-user tariffs.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
2. Follow routes and time schedule.
3. Inspects verify Load, loading offloading to ensure accountability.
4. Guides on loading arrangement to ensure axle load conformity as well as ease in workflow.
5. Controls stocks -Ensure a receipt of payment for all items offloaded, inspects returnable. Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
6. Inform customers about new products and services
7. Complete logs and reports
8. Working occasional evenings and weekends.
9. Follow road regulations and safety standards
10. Reports trucks failure supervises maintenance to ensure high standards of repairs are done
11. Reports licensing one month before expiry.
12. Completing daily maintenance checks on delivery van and notifying manager of any issues.
13. Maintenance- Ensure truck maintenance is done as and when it falls due.
14. Ensures fuelling contacts are achieved.
15. Uses tyre maintenance skills –ensures proper inflation and authorized tyre maintenance procedures.
16. Performs full truck handover when truck changes hands.

Requirements & Qualifications
1. Minimum of UCE Certificate
2. 4 Years Proven working experience as a driver.
3. Valid driving permit with at least class B, DL, DM & CM.
4. Valid professional driver’s license.
5. Excellent Communication, organizational and time management skills
6. Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
7. Good driving record with no traffic violations.
