JOB DETAILS:

The New Vision Printing and Publishing Company Ltd is looking to recruit a dynamic and self motivated individual to fill the position of Content Manager, Lifestyle and Entertainment.

Position : CONTENT MANAGER, LIFESTYLE AND ENTERTAINMENT
Reports to: Head of Content Generation.
Duty Station : Kampala.

Description of purpose
Provide leadership to the Lifestyle and Entertainment hub, develop the hub strategy ensuring creative and entertaining content, production processes for audio, visual, print and on-line platforms that meet audience needs and enhance society.

Key Result Areas:
1. Generate and produce creative, innovative, in-depth, compelling and enterprise content for audio, visual, print and on-line platforms to entertain audiences and ensure product growth;
2. Facilitate producers in the formulation and implementation of suitable growth strategies that ensure compliance with editorial policy, journalistic ethics & house-style for Entertainment and Lifestyle hub;
3. Engage regularly with Distribution heads, Marketing and potential business partners to create relevant and appealing content for diverse audience needs.
4. Liaise with sales and finance to ensure profitability of content;
5. Ensure cost-effective management of the hub through proper budgeting and adherence to budget.
6. Manage performance through regular coaching and formal appraisals to ensure completion of assigned tasks as per objectives set & compliance with policies;
7. Identify and retain a highly-motivated professional team;
8. Train and coach Producers in multi-media skills;
9. Hold regular meetings to plan and communicate updates on unit strategy, performance and operations;
10. Ensure regular reports to and from the team from the Producers detailing unit activities.

Qualification and Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Mass Communication or any related field.
2. Masters in Journalism/ Film production /Music Dance and Drama is an added advantage
3. 5 years working experience as a Senior Producer in the media and arts industry.
4. 3-5 years working experience in a creative/business/project management industry is an added advantage.

10. Excellent training and presentation skills.
11. Knowledge and appreciation of arts.
