Job Description
Job Purpose: To provide legal and enforcement support and advice to the Commission in accordance with the law for the efficient running of the day-to-day operations of the Commission. Primary Tasks/Responsibilities 1. Conducting legal research and prepare legal briefs in the preparation for cases going to Court and compile and give evidence in Court. 2. Participate in conducting periodic evaluation of operators and together with relevant units, compile compliance status reports of operators in respect of licenses and regulatory requirements. 3. Conduct investigations and interview witnesses and perpetrators, observing, investigating, and gathering evidence, taking formal witness statements, and liaising with the Enforcement Team 4. Identifying and recommending appropriate remedial and punitive action during the conduct of investigations. 5. Undertaking enforcement action in line with the relevant laws, regulations, licenses and agreements in respect of licensed operators; 6. Undertaking enforcement action against illegal operators in line with the Commission’s mandate.
Education and Professional qualifications 1. A Master’s Degree in Law; 2. A Bachelor’s degree in Laws; and 3. A Post Graduate Diploma in legal practice 4. Enrolled an advocate of the High Court of Uganda Working Experience 1. Four (4) years of relevant working experience in a similar corporate setting. 2. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
