Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument, Number 2 of 2022, hence a body corporate with perpetual succession and a Common Seal.

First established as a Private University in 2005, by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended, MMU has been making strides toward becoming an academic Centre of excellence.

JOB TITLE: Senior Lecturer -- Special Needs Education

Responsible to: Head of department
Responsible for: Lower level Academic Staff in the relevant discipline.

Purpose of the job
To teach, supervise students and conduct research and publish.

Key functions
1. Prepare well-researched lectures and delivers them to undergraduate and post-graduate students.
2. Set tests, examinations and course work.
3. Administer and invigilate tests and examinations.
4. Mark tests, course work and examinations scripts, compiles and grades examination results.
5. Guide and advise students on their academic performance.
6. Conduct research and disseminate research findings through conferences, seminars and publications.
7. Supervise undergraduate and post graduate students undertaking research projects.
8. Conduct seminars and tutorials.
9. Carry out official administrative duties in the department as directed by the Head of Department.
10. Contribute to the University and wider society through community service.

Person specifications
1. Should have teaching content with minimum qualifications of Ph.D. in a relevant field.
2. Should have proven academic ability in research, publication and teaching.
3. Should be computer literate.
4. Should have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at a recognized academic institution of higher learning, three (3) of which should have been at Lecturer level.
5. Should have at least three (3) scholarly publications in the area of specialization.
6. Should have supervised at least three (3) graduate students to completion.
7. Should have a good track record of service to the public.
8. Demonstrated computer literacy.
