Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:
Job Summary
Responsible for maintenance of electrical equipment and instruments at the paste backfill plant.
Key Duties
Maintain PLC systems, VFDs, level/flow/weighing instruments, motors and solenoid valves; troubleshoot electrical and instrument faults; calibrate instruments; implement electrical upgrades and hazard remediation; manage spare parts; train local employees.
Requirements
Diploma or above in electrical/automation/electromechanical engineering; 3+ years of electrical equipment maintenance at a backfill plant; familiar with surface low-voltage distribution and underground explosion-proof electrical standards; able to read electrical drawings.
