JOB DETAILS:
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
LOCATION: Kampala, Uganda
REPORTS TO: Finance Manager / General Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Not limited to the below
- Sales entry: Record sales invoices, delivery notes, credit notes and returns. Allocate customer receipts against invoices and keep customer ledgers current.
- Purchase entry: Record supplier invoices and verify them against purchase orders and goods received notes. Record supplier payments and keep supplier ledgers current.
- Expense booking: Book daily operating expenses under the correct ledger heads, check vouchers are complete and authorized, and maintain petty cash records.
- Reconciliation and records: Prepare monthly bank and mobile money reconciliations, reconcile customer and supplier statements, and file all vouchers in an organized way.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- 1 to 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounts, preferably in trading or distribution
SKILLS
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Tally Prime (or similar) and MS Excel
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Organized, honest and able to meet deadlines
- Good communication in English
