Role Overview
The Principal Internal Auditor role supports accountability and sound management of public resources within Bukedea District Local Government. The position focuses on independently reviewing financial and operational activities, assessing internal controls, and identifying areas where processes and compliance can be strengthened.
Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct internal audits of district departments, systems, records, and operations.
- Evaluate internal controls, risk management practices, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Prepare audit findings and recommendations to support corrective action and improved stewardship of public funds.
- Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and communicate significant issues to relevant officials.
