PROCUREMENT OFFICER – 2 POSITIONS
Job Purpose
To support transparent, timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required for the school's academic, administrative and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement procurement activities in accordance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare procurement plans and schedules.
- Receive and process purchase requisitions.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers.
- Prepare purchase orders and procurement documentation.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding prices, specifications, delivery schedules and quality.
- Monitor orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Support evaluation and selection of suppliers.
- Maintain complete and accurate procurement records.
- Coordinate with stores and user departments to confirm receipt of goods and services.
- Support inspection and verification of delivered goods.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Assist in contract and framework-agreement administration.
- Ensure procurement processes are transparent and properly documented.
- Support audits and provide procurement records when required.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Perform other procurement duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration (Procurement option) or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures.
- Experience in institutional procurement is an added advantage.
- Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.
- Good computer and record-management skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
