Consultancy firm for the impact evaluation project: scaling the adoption of integrated pest management.

Background:

International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), under OneCGIAR’s Plant Health Initiative, is conducting an impact evaluation of the adoption of integrated pest management technologies among maize producers in Uganda.

IFPRI is seeking a qualified organization to conduct a baseline household survey of 1500-2000 households in selected locations by July 2023. The position is based in Uganda. To apply, interested applicants are expected to submit detailed budget, CV for lead, and organization information uploaded as one PDF file.

Scope of work

Provide support in the preparation and presentation of documentation to obtain ethics approval from local IRB (e.g., Makerere, TASO) and register the study with the Uganda National Council for Science & Technology (UNCST).
Contribute to, translate, and pretest survey instrument (1.5-2 hour long).
Conduct a listing survey to facilitate sampling of households.
Program survey instrument using software such as SurveyCTO.
Collect household data from 1500-2000 households.
Data cleaning and formatting.
Required qualifications of the consultant / survey team leader

Experiences in large-scale household data collection in Uganda
Experiences in collaboration with international organizations
Experience in building trust and good relations with interviewees and communities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in agricultural economics, rural development, nutrition, and/or food security and related fields
Experience in working with Ugandan IRB institutions
Required qualifications of the survey team

Formal registration in Uganda (such as Certificate of Incorporation)
