Job Responsibilities:

1. Perform manual machine work on components for Compressors, Turbines, Pumps, Blowers, Conveyors and other components as necessary.
2. Perform operations such as manufacture of new shafts, turn & undercut shafts, thread cutting, broaching keyways, boring and sleeve manufacturing
3. Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
4. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
5. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
6. Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes, grinders, vertical mill) and position or load material for a job
7. Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.
8. Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
9. Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
10. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
11. Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages

Qualification, Requirements and Skills:

1. Qualification : Diploma or Equivalent education
2. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
3. 2 years of machine shop experience
4. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, drill press, saw etc.)
5. Ability to use precision tools (e.g. Calipers, Vernier, dial gauge) to take accurate measurements
6. Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
7. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
8. Understands bearings, seals, compressors, pumps and cylinders, valve and pipe configurations, shaft packing, and drive systems.

Terms :

• Employment Contract Tenure : 2 years
• Visa Type : Employment or Project
• Working Hours : 9 hours (8 hours duty +1 hour lunch break)
• Food : Provided by Company (Deduction of OMR 18 from salary)
• Accommodation : Provided by Company
• Over Time : Normal OT – Basic Salary x 1.2. Special OT (holidays) – Basic salary x 1.5
• Weekly ‘OFF’ : Friday & Saturday . May need to work on off days with OT as per job’s urgency
• Working days – Sunday to Thursday.
• Leave Cycle : 30 days in a year
• Flight Ticket : Provided by Company

Salary per month: Basic UGX 1,458,862 + Living Allowance UGX 632,173

CFC = 600 + GAMCA Medical cost extra

1. On signing of Agreement/offer letter – 200

2. Before departure – 400
