HOUSEKEEPER
Job Purpose
To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, orderliness and presentation throughout guest rooms and assigned areas of the motel, ensuring guests enjoy a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Housekeeper will:
- Clean and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms and other assigned areas.
- Change bed linen, towels and other room supplies as required.
- Dust, sweep, mop and vacuum floors and surfaces.
- Clean windows, mirrors, furniture and other room fixtures.
- Replenish toiletries and other guest amenities.
- Inspect rooms to ensure they meet the motel's cleanliness standards.
- Report damaged furniture, fittings, electrical items or other maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Collect and properly dispose of waste.
- Maintain cleanliness of corridors, stairways and other designated areas.
- Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
- Respond courteously to reasonable guest requests relating to housekeeping.
- Safeguard guest property and immediately report lost-and-found items according to motel procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guests and their activities.
- Follow health, safety and hygiene procedures.
- Assist with laundry-related duties where required.
- Work collaboratively with reception and other departments to ensure rooms are ready for guests.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or motel management.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a secondary school education is preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hotel or motel operations is an advantage.
- Basic training in hospitality or housekeeping is an added advantage.
