Reports to: Administration, Finance, and Logistics Coordinator (AFLC), Uganda office

focus on most marginalized groups.

Key responsibilities include

The AFL Officer will be in charge of accounting and financial management of the FATE project that the

the organization is implementing in Uganda.

The position’s main responsibilities and tasks are:

• Accountancy management:

o Control the financial reports and the supporting documents submitted on a

quarterly basis by the local partners implementing the FATE project and transfer

them into the accounting system.

o Conduct regular review of all accounting journals and documents for the project for

correctness and ensure that all are uploaded into the ASF accounting system on


o Review of all monthly staff and operational advances to employees and ensure that

all expenses reports from operational advances are duly uploaded on the

accounting system.

o Supporting in preparing accounting files to be shipped to the Brussels office.

o Adhere to monthly end closer procedures and ensure all are followed on time.

o Logistics confirmation of all operational purchase requisition and supporting

documents of the project.

o In charge of the annual closing of accounting for the project in compliance with ASF

and the donor requirements

• Treasury management

o Control the treasury requests of the project partners and validate transfers

o Perform monthly forecast for the project

• Budget and financial management

o Analyze the budget follow-up of the project and provide regular reporting to the

CAFL for decision-making.

o Help in controlling multi-currency and multi-donor budgets.

o Prepare budgetary amendments to partners' budgets.

o Responsible for managing partners' financial reporting tool making sure it is well


• Administrative and Management

o Monitor and prepare renewal of MOUs, partnership agreements, and contracts

related to the project.

o Review of the monthly staff payroll management tool for correctness.

o Timely filing of NSSF, WHT, LST, and PAYE returns.

• Logistics

o Together with CAFL, prepare an open call for tender to contract suppliers’ goods and

services used on a routine basis.

o Support in organizing missions, meetings, and seminaries for the project.

o Ensure and organize all the data transfers from project partners to ASF.

o Updating assets inventory for the project.

3 Profile

Degree: BA in Accounting/Financial Management, Business Administration,

Bachelor of Commerce or any related course

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial management in a

similar role preferably with an NGO

Knowledge and skills:

o Financial/Accountancy management is key

o Experience in Logistics and administration is an asset

o IT: High level of computer literacy (knowledge of well-known NGO

accounting software, advanced Excel, Word)

o Excellent interpersonal skills and multitasking capacity

o Desire to take on new challenges

o Driver’s license

o Motivation to integrate a multicultural and international organization
