Goodman International is a Pharmaceutical Company based in Kampala – Uganda, dealing in Importation and Distribution of Human and Veterinary Medicines, Agent & Local Technical Representative (LTR) for several Manufacturers from Europe and Middle East.
Job Summary : The Assistant Maintenance Officer supports the Maintenance Officer in ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained in a safe, efficient, and operational condition. The role involves carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to maintenance requests, and helping maintain a comfortable and secure environment for guests and staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of buildings, rooms, equipment, and utilities.
- Carry out preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments and guests.
- Assist in maintaining electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems.
- Monitor the performance of equipment and report faults requiring major repairs.
- Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections.
- Assist in monitoring maintenance supplies and recommend replenishment when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
- Support emergency repairs and be available for on-call duties when required.
- Work closely with other departments to minimize disruption to operations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of experience in building or maintenance work is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read maintenance manuals and follow technical instructions.
