- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons appropriate to learners’ ages and ability levels.
- Teach and develop swimming techniques, strokes, endurance and overall water competence.
- Maintain high standards of water safety and learner supervision at all times.
- Identify and nurture swimming talent and support learners preparing for competitions.
- Assess learner progress and provide appropriate feedback and development guidance.
- Promote discipline, teamwork and a positive learning environment.
- Maintain professional standards and contribute positively to the school’s sports programme.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure the wellbeing of learners during swimming activities.
Qualifications
- Relevant swimming coaching certification or qualification in a related field.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Proven experience coaching children and/or competitive swimmers.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and instructional skills.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and responsibility.
- Commitment to learner safety and safeguarding.
- Ability to work effectively within a school environment.
