John Snow, Incorporated (JSI) is seeking a Director of Community Resilience and Development for a five-year USAID-funded U.S. President's Malaria Initiative Uganda Malaria Reduction Activity (MRA).
The Activity aims to improve the survival and well-being of Uganda's most vulnerable pregnant women and children in selected regions. The Activity will work with the Government of Uganda and other partners to improve technical, managerial, financial, and leadership capacity at all levels of the health system.
The Director of Community Resilience and Deve
Ensure timely and qualitative contributions to the COP, for all necessary reports, including quarterly reports, and semi and annual reports, as well as administration and management activities as required;
Travel estimated at 25-40%; and
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Party.
Master's Degree in Public Health, Anthropology, Social Work and Social Administration, Demography/Population Studies, Program Management with a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Community Health, Community Psychology, Development Studies, or related field;
Strong understanding of capacity building tools, and 2-3 years of institutional capacity development;
Experience working in refugee settings is an added advantage but not a requirement;
Excellent people management including supportive supervision, mentoring and training skills;
