Child Development Officer in Charge Health (CDO-Health)

General purpose of the job

The CDO-Health is a key person for the general health and welfare of the participants, facilitating discipleship, counselling, supporting ongoing physical interventions, plan and carryout deliberate home visits etc.


Core Duties & Responsibilities.

• Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a strong Christian witness who demonstrates a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Church, and also faithfully upholds child ministry in prayer.
• The Child Health Development officer will plan, coordinate and execute health programs for children and care givers.
• Responsible for physical health Development programming and monitoring of Children and care giver’s health
• Implements the day to day running of the project health activities for the achievement of the physical development outcomes.
• Prepares and submits Health related reports to the Project Director and church leadership as a means to monitor and evaluate issues to do with children and caregivers health.
• Serves as a project and church leadership consultant on all health matters, Heath education, & visits and supports them in maintaining good health, fulfilling the church health work plans.
• Discharges other project work related duties as assigned by the Project Director.


Knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal specifications.
• Must be a mature born-again Christian with a sound testimony.
• Written Communication and basic organizational skills are a must.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Must be conversant with basic computer packages like word, excel, power-point and other relevant skills.
• Formal training in biblical studies, counselling and child development will be an added advantage.
• Ability and desire to learn new things.
• If Married Must be wedded in Church. Applicant must present a valid marriage certificate.


Job Qualification specifications
A minimum of a Diploma in Development Studies, Social Work, Education, Child Development and Children’s Ministry, Business Administration (Accounts or management option), Social Sciences, Community psychology. Possession of a Degree in the related field and A Health qualification from a recognized university is an added advantage.
