Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Stock & Collections Officer to support their distribution operations by ensuring accurate accountability of stock delivered to customers, timely collection of payments, and reconciliation of stock, deliveries, and customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and accurately account for payments received from customers.
- Follow up on outstanding customer balances and overdue payments.
- Reconcile customer payments against invoices and delivery records.
- Monitor and reconcile stock dispatched, delivered, returned and/or rejected.
- Verify customer deliveries against orders, invoices and delivery notes.
- Investigate and report discrepancies in stock, deliveries, payments and customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, stock movements and customer reconciliations.
- Prepare regular reports on collections, outstanding balances and stock variances.
- Work closely with the Finance, Sales, Warehouse and Distribution teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with Company procedures for cash handling, stock control and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Commerce or a related field.
- 2–4 years’ experience in collections, stock control, accounts receivable, inventory reconciliation or a similar role.
- Experience in a distribution, FMCG, wholesale or retail environments highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting, inventory or ERP systems.
- Strong numerical, reconciliation and analytical skills.
